Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to the details you send us through this website: what we keep, why, for how long and how to reach us about it.

Who we are

zemix digital is the trading name of Serhii Lastovychenko, a sole trader in Sligo, Ireland. We are the controller of the personal data you send through this website, and you can reach us at hello@zemix.digital.

What we collect

On the home page, the short brief sends us the kind of project, the budget range and the timing you choose, your name, an email address or phone number, a few words about your project and, if you typed one, your business name.

On the contact page, the brief sends us your name, your email address, the service, budget range and timeline you choose, the words you write about your project and, if you add them, your phone number and your company or website. It also sends how many seconds the form was open, which helps us filter out automated spam.

If you use the estimate on the contact page, “Plant it” copies your answers into the brief below it: the project, the closest budget range and your plan in a few words, so you can read and change them. The estimate itself sends nothing. Your answers reach us only when you send the brief.

Nothing in a brief is sent to us until you press “Plant it”. If our online desk cannot take it at that moment, the site offers a link that opens your own email app with the brief already written, addressed to hello@zemix.digital. It reaches us only if you send that email yourself.

The garden

At the end of the home page you can plant a seed in the water. For each seed we keep only: its number (seeds are numbered in the order they are planted); your secret word, the one we suggest or one you type yourself; a name, nickname or company name, only if you type one; one hashtag, only if you type one; the colour you pick; and the day you planted it, as a date without the time.

The garden does not ask for an email address or a phone number, and a name that contains a link, an email address or a phone number is not accepted.

No IP address and no device details are stored with a seed. To stop abuse, the server briefly counts requests using a scrambled code that is replaced every day and is never written to disk.

Every seed is shown publicly in the garden as a light without a label. Your name and hashtag are shown only to someone who opens the seed with its key: your name or the seed’s number, together with your secret word. Seed #1 is the studio’s own seed and the only light with a label, “zemix”.

Planting a seed sets no cookies. Your browser keeps only your seed’s number and the time you planted it (zx-my-seed, see the cookie policy), never your key. Keep it yourself: it is on your card. We cannot look it up for you.

To erase your seed, write to hello@zemix.digital or send a message through our contact page and include your key. We then delete the name, hashtag and secret word, and only a nameless light stays in its place. Older copies in our backups are removed automatically within 30 days.

Analytics

If you press Accept on the panel at the foot of the screen, Google Analytics 4 records how this website is used: the pages opened and the time spent on them, the page that led here, the device type, browser, screen size and approximate region. It sets the _ga cookies listed in the cookie policy, and it does not tell us who you are.

Until you choose, or if you press Decline, no analytics cookies are set. The page then sends Google only a short signal that a visit happened, without any identifier that could recognise you again. You can change your answer at any time under Cookie settings at the foot of every page.

Why we use it

We use your details only to reply to your brief, to arrange a conversation and to prepare a proposal if you ask for one. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract.

We keep garden seeds only to show them in the garden and to let you open your own seed with its key. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the garden you chose to join, and you can ask us to erase your seed at any time.

We use Google Analytics only with your consent, given by pressing Accept, to learn which pages help and to make the site better. You can withdraw that consent as easily as you gave it, under Cookie settings.

We do not add you to a mailing list and do not send you marketing unless you separately ask for it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as we need them to answer you and to keep proper business records. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

A seed stays in the garden for as long as the garden runs, unless you ask us to erase it.

Google Analytics keeps visit data for two months and then deletes it. Its cookies stay in your browser for six months at most, and pressing Decline under Cookie settings removes them at once.

Who else sees it

Only the people working on your enquiry, and the providers that host our website and email, who process data on our behalf under written terms.

If you accept analytics, Google Ireland Limited processes the visit data for us under its data processing terms. Google may handle it in the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We do not let it be used for advertising.

In the garden, everyone sees each seed only as an unlabelled light. The name and hashtag of a seed are seen only by someone who has its key.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them. Where we rely on your consent, as for analytics, you can withdraw it at any time under Cookie settings. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission, the regulator in Ireland.

Contact

To use any of these rights, write to hello@zemix.digital or send a message through our contact page and mention privacy. For a seed in the garden, include its key.
